I had the privilege recently to be apart of my good friends wedding. They wanted to setup a photo booth for their guests, and that is my specialty. Rather than rent one of those small boxes you have to climb into, I brought a traveling photography studio. Jess and her family made the props for the photos; mustaches, beards, hats, scarfs, and even a uni-brow! The best part of the evening was when the whole studio almost collapsed. Those Stephensons are out of control! I had a ton of fun shooting this, and am so excited for you guys! congrats Dustin and Jess!

A week or so ago I got to make some joyful hospital visits to see some great looking babies! Congrats to John and Amber on the birth of your little man Maddox. Can’t wait to see him again! And congrats to Jeff and Emily on your TWO boys Henry and Liam! Being a month early will leave a little room for growth. But these 2 boys are picking up their weight and eating almost completely without a tube now. Should be home anytime now!

It was a cold and windy day, not great for being outside and taking pictures. But, the Helmkamps braved it and did well! Jack was a trooper, but I could never really get a feeling for his mood. He’s got more facial expressions than the Bean. I think he probably gets that from his dad.

This was one of those ‘I hope we get some good shots’ photo shoots. Even the parents were skeptical! :) You never know what day will be a good day with the little ones, and this day was perfect. She was camera shy like all of them at first, but them warmed up, and was wanting me to play on the playground with her at the end. I obliged, or course! :)

These 2 right here are awesome, they showed up in my house a year ago, and we’ve been great friends ever since! I can’t believe we didn’t get around to this sooner, but we braved the cold and had a great time at the park and got some fun pics. Curty was the director of the whole shoot. He picked locations and posses. Decided who would and wouldn’t be in the shot. So I owe the success of this shoot to him.

Last weekend the Modracek family and I headed out to Jester Park to take advantage of the amazing fall colors! Seems like its going quick though, most of the leave on my trees are now decorating my yard… Claire is their 2 year old handful, and she was not sure about me and my camera. It took some coaxing but we got a few smiles out of her. Even with her quizzical looks at the camera we got some great shots! Of course she started to warm up to me right at the end of the shoot, and I can only hope she remembers me in a few months when the Modracek’s add another to the family! Enjoy the pics!

My cousin Katie and her man Bryan finally tied the knot! They had another photographer hired to shoot the wedding, but asked if I would step in to take the fun pics at the reception. So it worked out great, enjoy the ceremony from a pew, and shoot all the crazys on the dance floor. Yes please. haha.

2 months ago, Ryan and I traveled out to the North Polk High sports fields and took some photos {check them out} all dressed up in his baseball and football uniforms. And now we got out to shoot some more formal shots. So we tripped over to Whitetail Winery and made use of the great weather and great fall colors.

Tom, you did an excellent job, and created fantastic light for this shoot. ;)

Ok, this awesome kid’s name is Cael, but a friend couldn’t figure it out and dubbed him Celery, and it stuck. This is Joel and Amber’s third, and I had the privilege to shoot his photos when he was about 1 month old. Those are still some of my favorites! I think I’ll add in some from that shoot as well…

Joel, Amber and family have been taken away from Polk City because of his job, but God has been good and is providing for them. I was very excited to make time for Cael’s shoot when they had the chance to drop back into town. Anyways, the pics! Praying for you guys!

Ryan plays pretty much every sport offered at North Polk, so we did half of his senior photos on the baseball and football fields. We are shooting the 2nd half of his senior photos tomorrow afternoon at a very cool location! I’ll keep it a secret for now and you can find out later when I post the shots.
